ShareAndrew had a rougher day today. He had received platelets and had a reaction to them. He had a high fever, headache and vomiting. He was miserable. ShareLike I said yesterday when his NP, Trish was in Sat. she was very pleased with his numbers. His ANC # was 218. She did say that his numbers are coming down slowly and that is an indicator how he fast he will recover after transplant. Not a bad thing just a slow thing,remember? ShareAndrew surprised me today by greeting me by his door IV pole free!! He can now be off the IV’s for 12 hours At a time!! Woot WOot! He’s only on one bag of fluids and as long as he drinks 32 oz of water a day plus whatever else he drinks, he can stay off the IV for 12 hrs. He was giddy like a little girl! lol Thought he was going to do a cartwheel! ShareWe finally got approved for medicaid! Wooo Hoooo! And we only had to submit our info a gazillion times!! And when I say we, I mean Andrew is approved. I guess Martin and I are still screwed if we need medical attention. If the hospital wanted to see any money they better have gotten on the ball! Martin and I never worried about it because it is so ridiculous and laughable really. This whole deal will be at the very least $600,000, probably closer to a million dollars! ShareFirst the exciting news! Yea, baby! Not only did we get our room back…we got one of the new beds too!! *happy dance* The room next door became empty and they moved our room mate over!! ShareToday was yet another peaceful day as far as Andrew goes!! He did need platelets today, he was down to 37,000 so he got those. His ANC is 252 but his hemoglobin is holding and Andrew is feeling great! He is amazing!! He doesn’t complain that he is bored or about any procedure, he is peaceful and happy and if he can be that here? of all places? you can just imagine what he’s like at home! ShareI don’t have a lot of time tonight because I’ll be going back to the clown house later tonight. Martin is staying for Andrew’s 5:30a.m. chemo shot in the leg. He’s getting his last 3 hr. dose now. Martin does hypnotherapy on Andrew for this shot because it can really sting going in. AND it’s a chemo they have emergency drugs for and wait for 15 mins after they give the chemo. Last time he didn’t feel a thing. SO we go w/what works. ShareAndrew did well today. He was more quiet tonight. He said he felt neutral. Not sure what that means but I’ll take. He said he was still awesme. He started this dose of chemo at 11:30am for 3 hours. His last dose is at 11:30pm tonight (Tues) and goes till 2:30am Wed. Then he’s done till transplant.
