TODAY LEUKEMIA..TOMORROW THE WORLD!

ShareThat would best describe Andrew today. In a very conquering mood! I think he is plotting his diabolical plan for taking over of the world!! (Sorry Jeremy, I think he’s planning this one alone! LOL) Maybe even the Universe! :-) He’s in a conquering kind of mood! On to our day!! He was a bit cranky when I first arrived but that didn’t last long! He was then full of piss and vinegar! Maybe it was the fact he was looking forward to having visitors. My mother and niece were coming up. Now you know I have to set the stage for … Continue reading

“BLAST” THEM CELLS RIGHT OUTTA HIS BLOOD!

ShareFirst before I forget, Andrew reminded me today exactly what he said yesterday about this being an opportunity. We were discussing Andrew’s wish for the Children’s Wish Foundation. They ask for 3 incase they can’t do the first one. So we were saying that w/o a doubt the #1 wish he would’ve had last year would’ve been to go to Australia Zoo and meet Steve Irwin. Andrew then said “Too bad this opportunity didn’t happen sooner.” I just thought it was very intersting that chose that word and didn’t choose “this illness”, or ” this disease” but this “opportunity” instead. … Continue reading

LIL BUDDAH’S BAAAAACK!

ShareAhhhhhh Wayne DYER did it again! Andrew had a great day!! The morning started off w/whining in stereo as Andrew and his room mate Brad were whining. Martin and Patsy (Brad’s mom) just laughed at them. Brad didn’t want a blood transfusion, really?? Can’t even count how many ANdrew has had. Brad is 17 and deals with hemophilia. He had to have surgery due to bleeding in his abdomen. He was hoping he wouldn’t need blood. While Andrew was whining about having to get his mediport clean and changed. He thought it was going to hurt. It did not. We had yet … Continue reading

CRANKY LIL BUDDAH

ShareHe was a cranky little Buddah today! But I can’t blame him really. They started our day @ 7:00a.m. coming in w/a wheel chair saying he had an MRI scheduled. I said “no one told us!” I was pissed! I was actually sleeping for a change! SO was Andrew, so he was pissed as well. I called Martin who was also sleeping, and he was pissed because no one informed us that he was sheduled. So we said NO! Not happening! No one told us and Andrew does not have an MRI w/o Martin. Andrew hates them MRIs, the noise … Continue reading

CAN’T KEEP A GOOD MAN DOWN!

ShareAndrew had a rougher day today. They gave him an experimental chemo that has had good results in the UK. But it gave him a fever, higher blood pressure and he was sick. SO he couldn’t eat the steak dinner he was craving that I brought him. Plus he didn’t have the energy to play with his new, mac daddy, Verizon Chocolate cell phone he was so excited about getting. Yet it doesn’t seem to bother him. He’s taking it all in stride. As I wrote yesterday about being in the flow of life, if anyone is in the flow … Continue reading

BEING IN THE FLOW…..

ShareOf life! I drove home tonight so I could take care of a few things and get Andrew his new cell phone tomorrow. As I was driving I was thinking about how wonderful these past few days have been. Andrew has been doing so much better this 2nd time around as we thought he should since he wasn’t going in sick this time. It’s even amazing how he didn’t have his usual side effects from the “red donna” chemo he gets on day 1, 3 and 5. He gets very tired and nauseous. He had none of that today! He … Continue reading

IT’S A BEAUTIFUL DAY!

ShareToday was a beautiful day! Wayne Dwyer was on at 3a.m. till 4:30a.m. he loves his PBS I tell ya! SO when I was getting ready to go back to the clown house Andrew said, “It’s going to be a great day mama!” I said “Yup! It sure is because that’s how we’re setting it up.” And it was! Everything went smooth. His weight is still stable! It was peaceful and nothing out of the ordinary. We love that! Andrew was awake ALL day and just like his old self. We really LOVE that! He was on W.O.W. with his … Continue reading

THE IRISH ROVER!

ShareThe benefit last night at the Irish Rover was amazing!! I could feel the love all the way in St. Pete. Martin went and sang Andrew’s favorite John Denver songs. People we don’t even know were there to support us! The local Porshe dealer owner was there and donated a weekend rental of a Porshe!! It was incredible what people did for us!! Martin said the energy was incredible. People laughed, they cried then laughed some more. Everybody was high on the energy. One band came all the way from Key West just for this event!! Now that is love … Continue reading

GOOD DAY TODAY

ShareBy good day I mean his weight is holding, no loss. He wasn’t able to keep his one scandie shake down so he only had gatorade. Hoping no dramatic weight loss tomorrow. ALso he was feeling good, no major stuff going and no tests to be done. He was having a test everytime we turned around the last time we were here. So this trip is indeed easier so far. Funny how your whole perspective can change in 2 months on what’s easy to deal with!!  The transplant team is moving forward like he’s in remission because that is what they … Continue reading
