Wow Connie – this is so much like the conversations my Sarah has with her friends – makes me ache for Andrew’s smile like it was the last time I saw him here. He was eating that HUGE Publix roast beef sandwich. His spit tub was right there, too. It astonished me how he’d take a big bite, enjoy it heartily, have a cough and hack in between, then take another big bite and grin at me. Just another example of how he was awesome in the midst of everything. Miss you, Muck. Big hugs to you from me.
Wow….remained saying he was “awesome” in all that he endured, I am humbled…My Taylor often astounds me in all he goes through, and continues to smiles all the time…amazing souls these ones are that’s for sure.

I will always remember this next time I feel like fretting. LOL!! I don’t know if I can do what he did and say I’m awesome always though. I know from the feel of the energy of his words, that he wasn’t just pretending to be awesome…he actually was feeling awesome! That kind of attitude, I’d love to have that kind of attitude so I can truly say “I’m awesome” too….anytime…anywhere, no matter what.
Andrew has set an amazing example of true grace. So far I haven’t been able to come close to it but I will continue to try. I did read one of his e-mails weeks prior to his diagnosis and not feeling well that he was in fact sad. I think because his girlfriend wanted to break it off with him. But other than that one message, he was always awesome!
I really do hope I can be like him when I grow up someday! :-D
