As you know, this is close to my heart as you can imagine. As I have found out the hard way, leukemia can hit anyone at anytime and NO ONE is safe from this devastating disease! It discriminates against no one! Fellow ATP(r) Andria Wagner has ran in this race and she did it in honor of Andrew. Here is what another friend, Nancy sent to me & I am forwarding it on……
Tomorrow is Recommitment Day for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society Team in Training Nike Women’s Marathon Event. That is the day that each team member decides if they can continue in the training and fund raising efforts connected to their endurance event. I am just $145.00 short of the goal I set for gauging if I’ll reach the required minimum by Sept. 15.
So… I am appealing to each of you to make at a $5.00 donation on my web site. For every $5.00 you donate via the web site by tomorrow night, I’ll put your name on three charitable donation tickets and drop them into the basket. We’ll draw for prizes at the Zumba-thon on August 29. IT’S ALL GOOD!
We hosted once a month L & L Society dinners at the restaurant I managed at in Chicago. I met some amazing people during that time. If anything else comes up, let me know. I can’t donate now, but would love to once things loosen up in the financial area again for us.
